Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport Terminal Map
Getting Around VPS Airport
The airport features a two-level passenger terminal that spans 116,000 square feet. The first level houses Gates A1, A2, and A3, along with waiting areas and a concession area. The second level accommodates Gates B1 through B6, although Gates B3 and B5 are rarely used. The second-level concourse also offers a restaurant and additional concession areas, providing travelers with dining and shopping options. The terminal layout is straightforward, making navigation relatively simple for passengers.
For those flying with Allegiant Air, Concourse C is situated to the west of the main terminal and includes five new ground-level gates. Despite this expansion, all passengers must still check in and collect baggage at the main terminal. To move between levels, utilize the escalators and elevators located near the main entrance and central areas of the terminal. Signage throughout the terminal is clear and helpful, guiding you to gates, concessions, and other amenities.
Here are some quick tips for getting around the airport efficiently:
- Follow the signage for your gate and amenities.
- Use escalators and elevators to move between the two levels.
- Allow extra time if your flight departs from Gates B3 or B5, as these gates have unique boarding procedures.
- For Allegiant Air passengers, remember to check in and collect baggage at the main terminal before heading to Concourse C.

"The airport layout is pretty straightforward, but if you're departing from Gates B3 or B5, head to the gate early. These gates often have unique boarding procedures that can take a bit longer." — Maria S., Destin, FL, February 2024

"If you need to charge your devices, head to the seating area near Gate B2. There are plenty of outlets there, and it's usually less crowded than other areas." — Emily R., Crestview, FL, January 2024
Security
"TSA PreCheck is a lifesaver here, especially during the early morning rush. If you travel often, it's definitely worth the investment." — Michael T., Mary Esther, FL, April 2024
"For a quicker security experience, avoid the main checkpoint near the ticket counters and use the one near baggage claim. It's usually less busy." — Lisa P., Shalimar, FL, June 2024
Baggage
"Baggage claim can get congested, especially during peak travel times. If you're in a hurry, try to pack light and use carry-on luggage." — Alex W., Valparaiso, FL, July 2024

Both checkpoints are equipped with advanced screening technology to ensure the safety of all passengers and their belongings.

These lanes are located at the main security checkpoint and are accessible to passengers who have purchased a Fast Track pass or who are members of a trusted traveler program such as TSA PreCheck or CLEAR. Fast Track passes can be purchased online or at the airport.
Passport & Immigration Control Locations
VPS Airport does not have a dedicated passport and immigration control area as it only operates domestic flights. However, passengers are still required to present a valid government-issued photo ID such as a driver's license or passport at the security checkpoint. International travelers arriving in the United States will go through passport and immigration control at their first point of entry into the country.
TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints
The airport (VPS) has both TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints to ensure the safety and security of all passengers. TSA Pre Check is a program that allows pre-approved travelers to go through expedited security screening, which means they can keep their shoes, belts, and light jackets on, and leave laptops and liquids in their carry-on bags. To enroll in TSA Pre Check, passengers must apply online and attend an in-person appointment at an enrollment center.
