Getting Around PHL Airport
Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) features six terminals: A, B, C, D, E, and F, with a total of 126 gates. Terminals A East and West handle international and domestic flights, with Terminal A West primarily used for international arrivals. Terminals B and C are predominantly used by American Airlines, while Terminals D and E serve various airlines including Delta, United, and Spirit. Terminal F is dedicated to regional flights operated by American Eagle and Contour Airlines.
To navigate between terminals, PHL offers both airside and landside connections. Airside, after passing through security, you can move between Terminals A, B, C, D, and E via walkways and moving sidewalks. Terminals B and C are connected by the Philadelphia Marketplace, a shopping and dining area. Terminals D and E are linked through a post-security walkway that also provides access to additional shops and restaurants. A shuttle service operates between Terminal F and the other terminals, ensuring smooth transfers for passengers with connecting flights.
For amenities, each terminal is equipped with various lounges, dining options, and retail stores. Terminal A hosts multiple lounges, including the Admirals Club and the British Airways Galleries Lounge. Terminals B and C feature an Admirals Club in their connector, while Terminal D has a United Club and a Delta Sky Club. Terminal E includes a USO lounge for military personnel. Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)
Philly Airport has multiple security checkpoints located throughout its terminals. Terminal A has two checkpoints, one near Gate A1 and another near Gate A15. Terminal B has three checkpoints, one near Gate B1, another near Gate B16, and a third near Gate B25. Terminal C has two checkpoints, one near Gate C16 and another near Gate C31. Terminal D has one checkpoint near Gate D10. Terminal E has two checkpoints, one near Gate E3 and another near Gate E17. Terminal F has one checkpoint near Gate F14. Passengers are advised to arrive early and allow ample time for security screening.
Fast Track Lanes and Locations
PHL offers a TSA PreCheck program for expedited security screening. Passengers who are enrolled in the program can use the designated TSA PreCheck lanes located at each security checkpoint. Additionally, some airlines offer their own fast track lanes for their premium passengers. These lanes are typically located near the regular security checkpoints and are marked with signage. Passengers should check with their airline to see if they are eligible for the fast track lanes.
Passport & Immigration Control Locations
Passport and immigration control at Philadelphia Airport is located in Terminal A-West, Terminal B, and Terminal C. International arriving passengers will go through customs and immigration at Terminal A-West, while departing international passengers will go through security and passport control at Terminal A-East. Terminal B has a separate international arrivals area for passengers arriving from Canada. Terminal C has a separate immigration area for passengers arriving from countries with preclearance agreements with the United States. TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints
