Getting Around PHX Airport
The airport features two active terminals: Terminal 3 and Terminal 4, with a total of 117 gates. Terminal 3, which hosts most domestic flights, contains 25 gates. Meanwhile, Terminal 4, which handles international carriers and major domestic airlines like American and Southwest, has 92 gates. The airport has opted to retain these terminal numbers even after retiring Terminals 1 and 2 to avoid confusion among passengers.
To navigate between Terminal 3 and Terminal 4, travelers can use the PHX Sky Train, an automated people mover that operates 24/7. This train also connects the terminals to the East Economy Parking and the Valley Metro Rail, making it convenient for passengers to transfer between terminals quickly and efficiently. Within each terminal, clear signage and information desks are available to assist with directions. Additionally, moving walkways and elevators are strategically placed to facilitate easy movement, especially for those with heavy luggage or mobility issues.

Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)
Passengers can find security checkpoints at each terminal of Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. Terminal 4 has the most security checkpoints, with a total of eight. Concourse A has one security checkpoint, Concourse B has two, and Concourse C has three. The locations of the security checkpoints are clearly marked throughout the airport, and airport staff are available to assist passengers who need help finding them.
Fast Track Lanes and Locations
Phoenix Airport offers TSA PreCheck lanes for eligible passengers at all security checkpoints. These lanes allow passengers to go through security faster and with less hassle. In addition, some airlines offer their own fast track lanes for their premium passengers. These lanes are typically located near the regular security checkpoints, and are clearly marked with signage.
Passport & Immigration Control Locations
Passengers arriving at PHX Airport from international destinations will go through passport and immigration control at Terminal 4. The passport control area is located on the north side of the terminal, and is clearly marked with signage. After going through passport control, passengers will proceed to baggage claim and then through customs. Airport staff are available to assist passengers who need help navigating the process.
TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints
The airport has multiple TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints located throughout the terminals. TSA Pre Check allows eligible travelers to enjoy expedited security screening, which includes keeping on shoes, belts, and light jackets, as well as leaving laptops and liquids in carry-on bags. To use TSA Pre Check, travelers must apply and be approved for the program. The TSA Pre Checkpoints at Sky Harbor are typically less crowded than the standard TSA checkpoints, providing a quicker and more efficient security experience.

Global Entry Locations
Sky Harbor Airport is a designated Global Entry location, which allows expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers arriving in the United States. Global Entry members can use automated kiosks to complete their customs declaration and biometric scanning, significantly reducing wait times. To become a Global Entry member, travelers must apply and be approved through the U.S. Customs and Border Protection website. PHX has Global Entry kiosks located in the international arrivals area of Terminal 4.

Baggage Claim Areas
PHX Airport has three baggage claim areas located in each terminal. Baggage claim carousels are clearly marked with flight information and airline logos. Passengers can easily locate their baggage claim area by checking their flight information on the airport monitors or by asking airport staff for assistance. Baggage carts are available near the baggage claim areas for passengers to use free of charge.
