Getting Around RIC Airport
Richmond International Airport features two main terminals, Terminal A and Terminal B, each serving different flight routes and airlines. Terminal A, the original building from 1950, primarily handles domestic flights and includes 15 gates. It is home to airlines such as American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue Airways, and United Airlines. Terminal B, also known as the North Terminal, was built in 1976 and expanded in 2007 to accommodate international flights. This terminal has 14 gates.
To navigate between the terminals, passengers can follow clear signage throughout the airport. Both terminals are connected by a central concourse, making it easy to walk between them without needing additional transportation. For those needing assistance, airport staff and information desks are strategically located to provide guidance. Additionally, the airport offers amenities such as moving walkways and elevators to facilitate smooth movement, especially for those with mobility issues or heavy luggage.
Key tips for getting around efficiently include:
- Pay attention to the overhead signs directing you to gates, baggage claim, and other essential services.
- Utilize the airport maps available at information desks or on the airport's website to familiarize yourself with the layout.
- If you have a tight connection, consider asking airport personnel for the quickest route to your next gate.
