Whether you're renewing your TSA PreCheck membership or enrolling for the first time, this guide provides all the details you need for a smooth and efficient airport experience.
Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)
AMA Airport has two security checkpoints located in the main terminal building. The first checkpoint is located near the entrance of the terminal, while the second checkpoint is located near the gates. Both checkpoints are equipped with advanced technology to ensure the safety and security of all passengers and their belongings. It is recommended that passengers arrive at the airport at least two hours before their scheduled departure time to allow enough time for security screening.
Fast Track Lanes and Locations
Unfortunately, the airport does not currently offer fast track lanes for expedited security screening. However, passengers with disabilities or medical conditions may request assistance from TSA Cares, a program that provides special accommodations and assistance during the security screening process. Passengers can contact TSA Cares at least 72 hours before their scheduled departure time to make arrangements.
Passport & Immigration Control Locations
As a domestic airport, AMA does not have passport and immigration control locations. All flights departing from and arriving at the airport are within the United States. However, passengers should still carry a valid form of government-issued identification, such as a driver's license or passport, to pass through security and board their flight.
TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints
At Rick Husband Amarillo Airport, the TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints are located near the main entrance of the terminal. The TSA Pre Checkpoint allows eligible passengers to expedite the security screening process by keeping on their shoes, belts, and light jackets, and leaving laptops and liquids in their carry-on bags. Travelers can apply for TSA Pre Check online or in-person at an enrollment center.
