Getting Around SAF Airport
The airport features a remodeled terminal that offers a streamlined experience for travelers. The terminal's layout is designed to accommodate the current volume of passengers efficiently. Upon entering, you will find the check-in counters and security screening area. Beyond security, the gate area has been expanded to handle more flights, allowing for three regional jets to park head-in. This setup helps in managing the flow of passengers boarding and deplaning.
Baggage claim is temporarily located in a portable building adjacent to the main terminal. Signage is clear and will guide you through the short walk from the gate area to baggage claim. For those renting cars, rental car services are conveniently located near the baggage claim area. As you navigate the airport, you'll find clear directional signs to help you move smoothly between different sections.
For those needing assistance, airport staff are available throughout the terminal to provide help and answer questions. Additionally, there are information desks where you can get directions and other essential information. The terminal's compact size makes it easy to get around quickly, ensuring that you can transition from one area to another without unnecessary delays.

Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)
The Santa Fe Municipal Airport has one security checkpoint located on the first floor of the terminal building. Passengers are required to go through security screening before entering the gate area. The checkpoint is equipped with advanced technology to ensure the safety and security of all passengers and their belongings. It is recommended that passengers arrive at the airport at least 90 minutes before their scheduled departure time to allow enough time for the security screening process.
Fast Track Lanes and Locations
The Santa Fe Municipal Airport does not currently offer fast track lanes for expedited security screening. However, TSA PreCheck is available for eligible passengers who have enrolled in the program. TSA PreCheck allows passengers to go through a dedicated security screening lane and keep on their shoes, belts, and light jackets, as well as leave laptops and liquids in their carry-on bags. The TSA PreCheck lane is located at the main security checkpoint in the terminal building.
Passport & Immigration Control Locations
The Santa Fe Municipal Airport does not have international flights, therefore, there are no passport and immigration control locations at the airport. However, passengers traveling domestically are still required to present a valid government-issued photo ID, such as a driver's license or passport, at the security checkpoint. It is important to ensure that the name on the ID matches the name on the airline ticket to avoid any issues during the boarding process.
TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints
At Santa Fe Municipal Airport, passengers can expect to go through TSA checkpoints before boarding their flights. TSA Pre Check is also available for eligible passengers, allowing them to go through an expedited screening process. To be eligible for TSA Pre Check, passengers must apply and be approved through the TSA Pre Check program.
