Security & Screening

In this section, you will find comprehensive information about the security and screening processes at the airport. Learn about the locations of security checkpoints, the availability of TSA PreCheck and its benefits, and the absence of fast track lanes and CLEAR lanes. Additionally, discover details about passport and immigration control, Global Entry locations, and how to renew or enroll in TSA PreCheck for expedited travel. This guide will help you navigate the security procedures smoothly and efficiently.

Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)

SUX Airport has one security checkpoint located on the main level of the terminal building. Passengers are required to pass through security screening before entering the gate area. The airport recommends arriving at least 90 minutes before your scheduled departure time to allow enough time for check-in and security screening.

Fast Track Lanes and Locations

The airport does not currently offer any fast track lanes for expedited security screening. However, TSA PreCheck is available for eligible passengers, which allows them to use dedicated screening lanes and keep on their shoes, belts, and light jackets, as well as leave laptops and liquids in their carry-on bags.

Passport & Immigration Control Locations

SUX does not have any international flights, so there are no passport or immigration control locations within the airport. However, passengers traveling on domestic flights are still required to present valid government-issued photo identification, such as a driver's license or passport, at the security checkpoint.

TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints

Sioux Gateway Airport has TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints to ensure the safety and security of all passengers. TSA Pre Check is a program that allows expedited screening for eligible passengers, which means they can keep on their shoes, belts, and light jackets, and leave laptops and liquids in their carry-on bags. To be eligible for TSA Pre Check, passengers must apply and be approved through the TSA Pre Check program.

Global Entry Locations

Sioux City Airport does not have a Global Entry enrollment center. However, there are several enrollment centers located within a reasonable distance of the airport. Global Entry is a program that allows expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers upon arrival in the United States. To enroll in Global Entry, travelers must apply and be approved through the program and complete an in-person interview at an enrollment center.
