Getting around SBN Airport is straightforward due to its single, nine-gate concourse design. The terminal, originally built in 1981 and expanded in 2011, features a compact layout that makes navigation simple for travelers. The majority of the gates (2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9) are equipped with jetways, facilitating easy boarding and deplaning. For smaller aircraft, gates 2A and 6A offer ground-level access.

Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)
The South Bend Regional Airport has one security checkpoint located on the main level of the terminal. Passengers are required to go through this checkpoint before they can access the boarding gates. The security checkpoint is equipped with advanced screening technology to ensure the safety and security of all passengers and their belongings. It is recommended that passengers arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before their scheduled departure time to allow enough time for the security screening process.
Fast Track Lanes and Locations
The South Bend Regional Airport does not currently offer any fast track lanes for passengers. However, TSA PreCheck is available for eligible passengers, which allows them to go through a dedicated screening lane and avoid removing their shoes, belts, and light jackets, as well as their laptops and liquids from their carry-on bags. TSA PreCheck is available at the security checkpoint in the main terminal.
Passport & Immigration Control Locations
The South Bend Regional Airport does not have any international flights, so there are no passport or immigration control locations at the airport. However, passengers traveling internationally from nearby airports such as Chicago O'Hare or Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport will go through passport and immigration control at those airports before arriving in the United States.
TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints
The airport has TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints to ensure the safety and security of all passengers. The TSA Pre Checkpoint allows eligible travelers to enjoy expedited screening, which means they can keep on their shoes, belts, and light jackets, and leave laptops and liquids in their carry-on bags. Global Entry Locations
SBN does not have a Global Entry Enrollment Center on-site. However, there are several enrollment centers located within a reasonable distance from the airport. The closest enrollment center is located in Chicago, Illinois, which is approximately 90 miles away. Global Entry is a program that allows expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers upon arrival in the United States. To participate in Global Entry, travelers must apply and be approved through the program.

Baggage Claim Areas
South Bend Airport has two baggage claim areas located on the lower level of the main terminal. Baggage claim area A is for flights arriving from the east and baggage claim area B is for flights arriving from the west. Baggage carousels are clearly marked with flight information and airline logos to help passengers locate their luggage. If you have any trouble finding your baggage, there are information desks located nearby where you can seek assistance.
