Concourse A Info & Layout

Concourse A at Spokane International Airport is primarily dedicated to handling domestic flights. It is part of the Concourse A/B complex, which is centrally located at the airport. Southwest Airlines is the primary airline operating from Concourse A, providing numerous domestic routes for travelers.

Concourse A features 5 gates, numbered 11 through 15. The concourse is connected to Concourse B through a central rotunda area that offers a variety of dining and shopping options, making it convenient for passengers to relax or shop while waiting for their flights. The rotunda is a distinctive architectural feature, known for its unobstructed design supported entirely along its perimeter.

Passengers can access Concourse A via pedestrian walkways from the main terminal entrance. While there is no direct airside connection between Concourse A/B and Concourse C, passengers can move between these concourses through the landside, non-sterile areas of the airport. This layout requires travelers to exit and re-enter through security if connecting between Concourse A/B and Concourse C.

One of the noteworthy architectural features of Concourse A is its Neo-Expressionism style, characterized by exposed concrete and sculpted forms, although some of these elements have been altered through expansions and renovations. Despite these changes, the original design elements, such as the exposed concrete roof trusses and columns, remain a significant part of the concourse's aesthetic.
