Getting Around STR Airport

STR Airport consists of four passenger terminals that are directly connected to each other, making it relatively straightforward to navigate once you are inside. Terminals 1, 2, and 3 share a single airside area, which features eight jet bridges and approximately two dozen bus-boarding stands. Terminal 4 is a separate building but is connected to the other terminals by a walkway.

Here are some tips for getting around the terminals:

  • Terminal 1: This is one of the main halls and includes Terminal 1-West, together offering 50 check-in counters. It is primarily used by Eurowings and Turkish Airlines.
  • Terminal 2: Located within the shopping area between Terminals 1 and 3, this smaller terminal has nine check-in counters and a security checkpoint. It serves Lufthansa and Star Alliance partners.
  • Terminal 3: The second main hall, situated to the east of Terminals 1 and 2, features 39 check-in counters and is used by airlines like TUIfly and KLM.
  • Terminal 4: This terminal is a basic, separate building to the east of the other terminals, but connected by a walkway. It has 17 check-in counters and several bus-boarding gates, mostly serving holiday charter flights.

All terminals are well-signposted and connected, making it easy to move between them. If you need assistance, information desks are available throughout the airport. Additionally, there are plenty of signs in multiple languages to guide you to your destination.

STR has several security checkpoints located throughout the airport. Terminal 1 has two security checkpoints, one located on the ground floor and the other on the first floor. Terminal 2 has one security checkpoint located on the ground floor near the entrance. Terminal 3 has one security checkpoint located on the first floor near the entrance. Terminal 4 has one security checkpoint located on the ground floor near the entrance. All security checkpoints are clearly marked and staffed by trained security personnel.

Fast Track Lanes and Locations

Stuttgart Airport offers fast track lanes for passengers who want to expedite their security screening process. Fast track lanes are available for passengers who are traveling in business class or first class, or for passengers who have purchased a fast track pass. Passport and immigration control at Stuttgart Airport is located in Terminal 3. The passport control area is located on the first floor near the entrance.
