Getting Around TPE Airport
TPE Airport consists of two main terminals, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, which are connected by two short people movers. Navigating between these terminals is straightforward, thanks to the efficient people mover system. Additionally, the Taoyuan Airport MRT links both terminals underground, providing an easy way to move between them and access transportation to Taipei City.
Terminal 1 features two concourses, Concourse A (North) and Concourse B (South), which together form an "H" shape. The terminal includes 18 gates, with check-in areas, baggage claim, passport control, and security checkpoints centrally located in the main building. Terminal 2, on the other hand, has Concourse C (South) and Concourse D (North), offering a total of 20 gates. Each concourse in Terminal 2 has its own security checkpoints and is connected by the central passport control area.
For quick and easy navigation within the airport, travelers can use the following tips:
- Utilize the people movers to travel between Terminals 1 and 2.
- Follow the clear signage for directions to your gate, check-in counters, and baggage claim areas.
- Make use of the Taoyuan Airport MRT for convenient underground transit between terminals.

Security & Screening
In this section, you will find detailed information about the security and screening processes at the airport, including the locations of security checkpoints in both terminals, the availability and eligibility criteria for Fast Track lanes, and the locations of passport and immigration control. Additionally, learn how to renew or enroll in TSA PreCheck for a faster and more convenient travel experience.
Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)
The airport has several security checkpoints located throughout both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. In Terminal 1, there are four security checkpoints: two on the first floor and two on the third floor. In Terminal 2, there are six security checkpoints: two on the first floor, two on the third floor, and two on the fourth floor. Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport early to allow enough time to pass through security.
Fast Track Lanes and Locations
Fast Track lanes are available for passengers who wish to expedite the security process. These lanes are located at security checkpoints in both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Passengers who are eligible for Fast Track include those traveling in business class, first class, or with elite status in a frequent flyer program. Fast Track lanes are also available for purchase for all passengers, regardless of their class of travel or frequent flyer status.
Passport & Immigration Control Locations
Passport and immigration control is located in both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 of TPE. In Terminal 1, passport control is located on the third floor, while immigration control is located on the first floor. In Terminal 2, both passport and immigration control are located on the fourth floor. Passengers are advised to have all necessary travel documents ready and to follow the instructions of the immigration officers to ensure a smooth and efficient process.

Food, Shops & Services
Taiwan Taoyuan Airport offers a wide range of food and shopping options for travelers. Terminal 1 has a variety of restaurants and cafes that serve both local and international cuisine. From Taiwanese street food to Japanese sushi, there is something for everyone. If you are looking for a quick bite, there are also fast food options available. In addition to food, Terminal 1 also has several shops selling souvenirs, electronics, and duty-free goods.
Terminal 2 also has a great selection of food and shopping options. There are many restaurants and cafes that serve delicious food and drinks. You can find everything from Chinese dim sum to Italian pasta. If you are in the mood for some shopping, Terminal 2 has a wide range of stores selling clothing, accessories, and electronics. There are also duty-free shops where you can buy tax-free goods such as cosmetics, perfume, and alcohol.
In addition to food and shopping, Taipei Airport also offers many amenities and services for travelers. There are currency exchange counters, ATMs, and banks where you can withdraw money or exchange currency. If you need to freshen up, there are shower facilities available for a fee. There are also lounges where you can relax and enjoy some peace and quiet before your flight. For those traveling with children, there are play areas and baby care rooms. Baggage Claim Areas
Upon arrival at TPE Airport, passengers can easily locate the baggage claim areas in both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. The baggage claim areas are located on the first floor of each terminal and are clearly marked with signs. Passengers should check the flight information displays to find the correct carousel for their flight. Baggage carts are available for use in the baggage claim areas.
