Getting Around AVP Airport
AVP Airport features a single passenger terminal, simplifying your navigation through the facility. The terminal is structured with two main levels: the lower level includes Gates 1 and 2, while Gates 3 through 8 are located on the upper level. This straightforward layout aids in a seamless transition from check-in to gate.
Here are some tips for getting around inside the terminal:
- Elevators and escalators are available to help you move between the two levels. If you're unsure where these are, look for signage or ask airport staff for assistance.
- Gate assignments can sometimes change, so it's a good idea to check the information screens scattered throughout the terminal upon arrival for the latest updates.
- Walking times between gates are generally short due to the compact nature of the terminal, making it easier to get to your gate on time even with last-minute gate changes.

Passport & Immigration Control Locations
AVP does not have any international flights, therefore, there are no passport and immigration control locations at the airport. However, passengers traveling to international destinations from other airports should ensure they have all necessary travel documents and visas before their trip.
TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints
Wilkes-Barre Scranton Airport has both TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints available for passengers. TSA Pre Check is a program that allows expedited screening for low-risk travelers, meaning they can keep their shoes, belts, and light jackets on, and their laptops and liquids in their bags. To qualify for TSA Pre Check, passengers must apply and be approved through the TSA's website or at an enrollment center. At AVP, the TSA Pre Checkpoint is located at the main security checkpoint.
