Concourse B Info & Layout
Concourse B at Zurich Airport plays a vital role in handling both Schengen and non-Schengen flights, making it a versatile terminal for international and European travelers. Originally opened in 1975, Concourse B underwent an extensive three-year renovation, reopening in November 2011 with modern facilities and enhanced capabilities.
Concourse B features gates prefixed with B and D, cleverly designed to serve both Schengen and non-Schengen passengers. Each gate is equipped with dual numbering, allowing seamless separation of passenger flows to ensure efficient processing through different routes for Schengen and non-Schengen travelers.
Travelers can access Concourse B via the Airside Centre, to which it is directly connected as a finger pier. The Airside Centre serves as a central hub, offering a range of amenities including duty-free shopping, dining options, and lounges. Passengers can reach the Airside Centre from the main terminal complex, which includes the Airport Centre with its shopping mall, railway station, and other transport connections.
One of the unique features of Concourse B is its ability to handle both types of flights at the same gates, providing flexibility and efficiency in passenger management. This makes it a noteworthy terminal for those traveling through Zurich Airport, ensuring a smooth transition between different flight zones.
