Getting Around CHS Airport
The terminal layout at CHS is straightforward, with both departures and arrivals located on the same floor. The departure area is situated at the east end of the terminal, while the arrival area is at the west end. This configuration makes it easy for passengers to navigate between check-in, security, and their respective gates without needing to change floors.
Flights depart from two main concourses: Concourse A and Concourse B. Concourse A, located towards the east, contains eight gates (A1, A2, A2A, and A3-A7) and is primarily used by Delta Air Lines and Delta Connection. Concourse B, towards the west, has ten gates (B1-B10) and serves other airlines, including handling international arrivals. A consolidated TSA security checkpoint serves both concourses, making the security process more efficient for travelers.

Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)
Charleston Airport has several security checkpoints located throughout the airport. The main security checkpoint is located in the main terminal, near the entrance to Concourse A. There are also additional security checkpoints located at the entrance to Concourse B and near the baggage claim area. Be sure to allow enough time to pass through security, especially during peak travel times.
Fast Track Lanes and Locations
Charleston Airport offers a TSA PreCheck program, which allows eligible passengers to use a dedicated security lane and avoid some of the usual security procedures. The TSA PreCheck lane is located at the main security checkpoint in the main terminal. In addition, some airlines offer their own fast track lanes for premium passengers or those with certain frequent flyer status levels. Check with your airline to see if you are eligible for a fast track lane.
Passport & Immigration Control Locations
CHS Airport has a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) facility located in the main terminal, near baggage claim. This facility handles all international arrivals and departures, including passport control and customs inspections. Be sure to have all necessary travel documents ready and allow enough time to pass through CBP procedures. Note that some flights may arrive at remote gates, requiring a short shuttle ride to the main terminal for CBP processing.
TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints
The airport has TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints to ensure the safety and security of all passengers. TSA Pre Check is a program that allows expedited screening for trusted travelers, which means you can keep your shoes, belt, and light jacket on, and your laptop and liquids can stay in your carry-on bag. To use TSA Pre Check, you must apply and be approved for the program.
