Terminal 2 at Taipei Chiang Kai-Shek International Airport is a key facility primarily handling international flights. Opened in 2000 to alleviate congestion at the older Terminal 1, Terminal 2 features two main concourses: the South Concourse (Concourse C) and the North Concourse (Concourse D). Together, they offer a total of 20 gates, each equipped with two jetways to efficiently manage passenger flow.
Major airlines operating from Terminal 2 include China Airlines, which predominantly uses Concourse D, and EVA Air, which mainly operates from Concourse C. This terminal is designed to accommodate up to 17 million passengers annually, with plans to increase this capacity to 22 million following a renovation completed in 2020.
Travelers can access Terminal 2 via the Taoyuan Airport MRT, which provides seamless underground connectivity to Taipei City and links the airport's terminals. Additionally, two short people mover lines connect Terminal 2 with Terminal 1, facilitating easy transfers between concourses A and D, as well as B and C.
Terminal 2 offers a range of amenities and services to enhance the traveler experience, including extensive shopping areas, dining options, and expanded check-in facilities. Its modern design and efficient layout make it a noteworthy terminal for international travelers passing through Taipei.
