Location-Specific Procedures
Items Lost in Airport Terminals
For items lost within the airport terminals, you are encouraged to visit one of the Lost & Found desks located at Kelderplein, Lounge 1, or Holland Boulevard. These desks handle all kinds of lost items, from jewelry to passports, hand baggage to laptops.
Items Lost at Security Checkpoint Areas
For items lost at security checkpoints, the same procedure applies. Please visit one of the Lost & Found desks to report your lost item.
Items Lost in Other Areas
If you lose an item in other areas such as parking lots, rental car facilities, or shuttle buses, you should still report the lost item to one of the Lost & Found desks.
Items Lost on the Plane
If you believe you've left an item on the aircraft after arriving at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, you have several options available to retrieve it. Your first option is to return to the gate where your flight arrived. If you're unable to return to the gate, or if the item is not there, you can visit the airport's lost and found desk if one is available.
Another option is to go to the luggage/baggage services desk for your airline, which is typically located in the baggage claim area. If the item is not found there, you can contact your airline directly. Most airlines have procedures in place for handling lost items and can help you retrieve your belongings.
Lost Checked Baggage
If your checked bag does not appear in the baggage claim area within a reasonable amount of time, don't panic. The first step is to contact the baggage services desk in the baggage claim area. They can assist you in tracking your luggage and, in many cases, can locate it quickly.
If the bag is not immediately found, you should file a lost luggage report with your airline. They will continue to search for your bag and will contact you when it's found.

How to File a Report
Amsterdam Schiphol Airport does not support online form submission for lost items. If you are still at the airport, you should immediately visit a Lost & Found desk. If you have already left the airport, you can call Schiphol Lost & Found at 020 333 0333. Be prepared to provide your First/Last Name, Contact number, Date and Time of travel, Airline used, and a detailed description of the property that includes brand, color, size, type, and identifiable features.
Collection, Delivery, and Charges
Once your lost item has been found, you can collect it from the Lost & Found desk located between Arrivals 1 and 2 during their operating hours. Alternatively, you can opt to have your property delivered by a courier. More information about any associated fees can be provided by the Lost & Found team.
Special Considerations
For sensitive items like passports, ID cards, or driving licenses, you should call 088 958 18 14 to inquire if your document has been found. All such documents are collected the following day and handed over to the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee. If you find a lost item, you can hand it in to one of the Lost & Found desks during opening hours. Outside of these hours, you can only hand in items at the Kelderplein location, which has a special box for depositing found items.
