Getting Around CTA Airport
Catania–Fontanarossa Airport features multiple terminals designed to handle a high volume of passengers efficiently. The main terminal, opened in 2007, includes 22 gates and six loading bridges, facilitating smooth boarding and disembarkation processes. Terminals B and C, which were added in 2018, help manage the growing passenger traffic. Terminal C is dedicated exclusively to easyJet flights, making it straightforward for easyJet passengers to navigate.
To move between the terminals, clear signage and information desks are available throughout the airport. Passengers can follow the signs to their respective gates or terminals without much hassle. Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)
At Catania Airport, the security checkpoints are located in both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. In Terminal 1, there are two security checkpoints: one is located on the ground floor near the check-in counters, and the other is on the first floor near the boarding gates. In Terminal 2, there is only one security checkpoint located on the ground floor near the check-in counters. It is recommended to arrive at the airport early to allow enough time for passing through security.
Fast Track Lanes and Locations
Passengers who wish to use the fast track service can do so at CTA Airport. The fast track lanes are located at both security checkpoints in Terminal 1 and the security checkpoint in Terminal 2. The fast track service is available to passengers who have purchased a premium ticket or have a frequent flyer status with the airline. It is also possible to purchase the fast track service separately at the airport.
Passport & Immigration Control Locations
The passport and immigration control at the airport is located in the arrivals area of Terminal 1. Passengers arriving from non-Schengen countries will need to pass through passport control before collecting their luggage. The immigration officers will check the passport and visa of the passenger before allowing them to enter the country. Passengers arriving from Schengen countries will not need to pass through passport control but will still need to pass through the luggage control area.

Baggage Claim Areas
Upon arrival at Catania Fontanarossa Airport, passengers can easily locate the baggage claim areas. The airport has two baggage claim areas, one for domestic flights and the other for international flights. The baggage claim areas are located on the ground floor of the terminal building, and are clearly marked with signs. Passengers are advised to check the flight information screens for the correct baggage carousel number before proceeding to the baggage claim area.
