Getting Around ITO Airport
The passenger terminal complex at ITO Airport is located on the southern edge of the airport. It consists of a main terminal building that caters to both domestic and commuter flights. Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)
At ITO, there are two security checkpoints located in the main terminal building. The first checkpoint is located near the entrance of the terminal, while the second checkpoint is located near the gates. Both checkpoints are equipped with X-ray machines and metal detectors to ensure the safety of all passengers and their belongings. It is recommended to arrive at the airport at least two hours before your scheduled departure time to allow enough time for security screening.
Fast Track Lanes and Locations
Unfortunately, Hilo Airport does not offer any fast track lanes for passengers. However, TSA PreCheck is available for eligible passengers, which allows for expedited screening through security checkpoints. Passengers who are enrolled in TSA PreCheck can use dedicated lanes and do not need to remove their shoes, belts, or light jackets, or take out their laptops and liquids from their carry-on bags. To enroll in TSA PreCheck, passengers can apply online or visit an enrollment center.
Passport & Immigration Control Locations
Passport and immigration control at Hilo Airport is located in the main terminal building, near the baggage claim area. All international passengers must go through passport and immigration control before exiting the airport. The process includes presenting a valid passport and any necessary visas or travel documents, as well as answering questions from a customs officer. It is important to have all necessary documents ready and easily accessible to avoid any delays or issues during the immigration process.
TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints
At ITO Airport (ITO), there are TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints available for passengers. The TSA checkpoint is located at the main terminal building, and the TSA Pre Checkpoint is located at the south end of the terminal. TSA Pre Check is a program that allows eligible passengers to expedite the security screening process by keeping on their shoes, belts, and light jackets, and not having to remove laptops or liquids from their carry-on bags. To participate in TSA Pre Check, passengers must apply and be approved through the TSA Pre Check program.

Global Entry Locations
Global Entry is a program that allows expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers upon arrival in the United States. At the airport (ITO), there is no Global Entry Enrollment Center available. However, travelers can enroll in Global Entry at other locations throughout the United States, including Honolulu International Airport (HNL) and Kahului Airport (OGG) in Hawaii. To enroll in Global Entry, travelers must apply and be approved through the program, and complete an in-person interview at an enrollment center.
CLEAR Lane Locations
