Getting Around LYS Airport

LYS Airport features two main passenger terminals, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, which are interconnected on the landside by a central building. This central building also provides a footbridge connection to the nearby Gare de Lyon Saint-Exupéry high-speed railway station and the Rhônexpress terminus. Navigating between these terminals is straightforward due to the clear signage and relatively short walking distances.

Terminal 1 is divided into two main sections. The older section is a two-storey building housing check-in areas 11, 12, 14, 18, and 19. The upper level contains departure areas G and F, while the ground level is dedicated to arrivals. The newer section of Terminal 1 has a circular layout with check-in area 10 on the ground level and departure gates B and C on the upper levels. Additionally, this terminal is connected by a tunnel to a small satellite building that contains the D gates, primarily used by low-cost airlines like easyJet and Transavia France.

Terminal 2 is similar in design to the older part of Terminal 1 and includes check-in areas 20 and 21. The upper level of Terminal 2 features boarding areas Q and P, while the lower level is designated for arrivals. This terminal is predominantly used by Air France. Clear signage and information desks throughout the terminals assist travelers in finding their way, ensuring a smooth transit experience within the airport.
