LYS Terminal 1 Map & Guide
This page offers insights into Terminal 1 at Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport, detailing its layout, airline operations, and connectivity options, along with information on accessing the terminal and its amenities.
Terminal 1 Info & Layout
Terminal 1 at Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport plays a crucial role in handling both domestic and international flights. It is notably used by major airlines such as easyJet, Transavia France, Star Alliance carriers, and Emirates. The terminal features a total of three gate areas: B, C, and D.
The terminal consists of two main parts. The older section is a two-storey building with check-in areas 11, 12, 14, 18, and 19, and features departure areas G and F on the upper level, with arrivals on the ground floor. The newer expansion, opened in June 2018, doubled the terminal's capacity with a circular design. It includes check-in area 10, additional arrivals facilities on the ground level, and gates B and C on the upper levels. A tunnel connects this section to a satellite building that houses the D gates, primarily serving low-cost airlines like easyJet and Transavia France.
Passengers can access Terminal 1 via pedestrian walkways from the central building, which also connects landside to Terminal 2 and provides a footbridge to the Gare de Lyon Saint-Exupéry high-speed railway station and the Rhônexpress terminus. This connectivity makes it convenient for travelers to transition between different modes of transportation.
Unique features of Terminal 1 include its modern architectural design by Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners and its efficient layout that accommodates a high volume of passengers. The terminal offers a range of amenities, including shopping and dining options, ensuring a comfortable experience for travelers.
