- There are six trains an hour running to the Manchester Piccadilly station at City center, with fast rail connection countrywide.
- The TransPennine Express (www.tpexpress.co.uk/) & Northern Rail (www.northernrailway.co.uk) depart every 10 minutes to/from Manchester Piccadilly, taking 20 minutes; other lines from the Airport serve Birmingham, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Sheffield, York, Newcastle, Leeds, Liverpool, Huddersfield, Bolton, preston,Blackpool, The Lake District.
The Metrolink - greater Manchester's tram system - has now an 'Airport line' - whose on-airport station is adjacent to the rail platform - giving arriving passengers a choice of 92 stops with connections to Altrincham, Bury & Eccles & the new South Manchester station, including a stop at Cornbrook (just outside of City Center - and in the future directly to City Center).
