People With Special Needs / Persons With Disabilities

When making airline reservations, be sure to state your special needs, including wheelchair assistance.   A SkyCap can escort you to the gate, arranged by the Airline.  If a family member needs to accompany you to the gate, he or she need to obtain a gate pass at the airline ticket counter.

Richmond Airport is ADA-accessible:
All entry doors accommodate wheeelchair access.
Elevators are in both the passenger terminal and parking garage.
All restrooms have large doorless entryways, with at least one large stall; family restrooms are next to the ticketing lobby, baggage claim and in each concourse.
Wheelchair-accessible payphones are disbursed throughout the terminal.
TTY phones are on level 1, near the escalators; and on level 2 near the ticketing counters.

Rental cars should be contacted for hand-ctonrolled cars when making reservations.
Working dog relief areas are located in the grassy places between parking garage and terminal; cleanup material is provided.
