SFO Terminal 3 Map & Guide
This page offers insights into Terminal 3 at San Francisco Airport, detailing its layout, amenities, and connectivity options, along with its commitment to sustainability and recent renovations.
Terminal 3 Info & Layout
Terminal 3 at San Francisco Airport, formerly known as the "North Terminal," is a key hub for United Airlines, primarily handling domestic flights. It consists of two boarding areas: Boarding Area E with 13 gates (E1-E13) and Boarding Area F with 18 gates (F5-F22). This terminal is dedicated to United Airlines' operations, including both mainline and United Express flights.
Travelers passing through Terminal 3 can enjoy a variety of amenities, including two United Clubs located near the rotunda for Boarding Area F and at the beginning of Boarding Area E. Additionally, the terminal is home to the American Express Centurion Lounge, situated across from Gate F2, providing a premium experience for eligible passengers.
Access to Terminal 3 is convenient, with connections to other terminals facilitated by airside connectors. These connectors allow passengers to move between Terminal 3 and the International Terminal's G gates, as well as Terminal 2. This seamless connectivity ensures that travelers can easily navigate the airport without leaving the secure area.
A notable feature of Terminal 3 is its solar roof, installed in 2007, which generates enough energy to power all the terminal's lights during the day, reflecting SFO's commitment to sustainability. The terminal underwent significant renovations, with Boarding Area E reopening in 2014 following a comprehensive refurbishment designed by Gensler. This project included architectural enhancements, structural renovations, and updated facilities, making Terminal 3 a modern and efficient space for travelers.
