CLT has a single terminal with five concourses, making navigation relatively straightforward. All concourses (A, B, C, D, and E) are interconnected through the central terminal building, which houses essential services such as ticketing, security, and baggage claim. This centralization facilitates easy movement between concourses without the need to exit and re-enter through security.
Here’s a quick breakdown of the concourses:
- Concourse A: 32 gates. The main pier serves American Airlines, while the North extension piers accommodate United, Southwest, jetBlue, Spirit, Delta, Frontier, Sun Country, and Air Canada.
- Concourse B: 16 gates, exclusively for American Airlines mainline domestic flights.
- Concourse C: 18 gates, also exclusively for American Airlines mainline domestic flights.
- Concourse D: 13 gates, serving American, Lufthansa, and Volaris. International flights without customs preclearance are processed here.
- Concourse E: 45 gates, primarily used by American Eagle, with some gates allocated to Contour Airlines.
For added comfort during layovers or delays, consider visiting one of the many airport rocking chairs spread throughout the terminal.
