Interisland Terminal Info & Layout

The Interisland Terminal, known as Terminal 1, at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport in Honolulu, primarily handles domestic flights between the Hawaiian Islands. This terminal is a hub for Hawaiian Airlines, which is the major airline operating from this location. Terminal 1 features 25 gates, making it a vital component for interisland travel.

Travelers at Terminal 1 can enjoy a variety of amenities, including dining options, retail shops, and services that cater to the needs of passengers. In recent years, significant improvements have been made, such as the opening of a new four-lane security checkpoint in February 2023, enhancing the efficiency and convenience of passenger processing.

Access to Terminal 1 is facilitated by pedestrian walkways, and it is connected post-security to Terminal 2. Passengers transferring between these terminals must pass through a USDA agricultural inspection station for carry-on luggage, ensuring compliance with agricultural regulations.

A notable feature of Terminal 1 is the Mauka Concourse, which opened in August 2021. This concourse adds space for 11 narrow-body aircraft or six wide-body aircraft and includes a post-security walkway to the rest of Terminal 1. The Mauka Concourse also boasts a new six-lane TSA security checkpoint, further streamlining the passenger experience.
