Airside A at Tampa International Airport is primarily dedicated to handling domestic flights. It is home to several major airlines, providing travelers with a range of options for their journeys. This concourse features 16 gates, offering a variety of flights to numerous destinations.
Amenities within Airside A include a food court, gift shops, and outdoor smoking patios, ensuring passengers have access to essential services and conveniences while waiting for their flights. Although Airside A does not feature duty-free shops, it still provides a comfortable and efficient environment for domestic travelers.
Access to Airside A is facilitated by Tampa International Airport's innovative automated people mover (APM) system. This elevated system, which was the first fully automated, driver-free people mover in the world, connects the central Landside Terminal to each of the four Airside satellites, including Airside A. The APM system ensures quick and seamless transit for passengers moving between the terminals.
Unique to Tampa International Airport, the Landside/Airside terminal design allows for efficient passenger flow and convenience, making Airside A a noteworthy part of the airport's infrastructure.
