Getting Around MEX Airport
The airport features two main terminals: Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, each with distinct areas for domestic and international flights. Terminal 1 is a two-story building with a length of 800 meters, where the ground floor is dedicated to arrivals and the upper floor to departures. In Terminal 1, gates 1 to 18 serve domestic flights, while gates 19 to 36 cater to international flights. Terminal 2, on the other hand, spans 288,000 square meters and has three piers with gates numbered 52 to 81, all equipped with jetbridges. The terminals are 3 kilometers apart and connected by an inter-terminal bus shuttle and the Aerotrén people mover system.
Getting around inside the terminals is straightforward. In Terminal 1, the ground floor hosts arrival facilities, including baggage claim and domestic check-in, while the upper floor is designated for international check-in and departures. Food courts, restaurants, and various VIP lounges are available throughout the terminal. Terminal 2 also separates its arrivals and departures between the lower and upper levels, respectively, with the upper level housing check-in areas and security checkpoints. Both terminals offer numerous amenities such as duty-free shops, food courts, and lounges to ensure a comfortable transit experience.
For travelers needing to move between terminals, the Aerotrén is a convenient option, especially for those with a boarding pass or airline crew. Operating at 45 kilometers per hour, it ensures quick transit between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Alternatively, the inter-terminal bus shuttle service is available for all passengers, with stops conveniently located at entrance 6 of Terminal 1 and entrance 4 of Terminal 2.

Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)
The Mexico City Benito Juarez Airport has security checkpoints located in both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. In Terminal 1, the security checkpoint is located on the ground floor near the entrance to the terminal. In Terminal 2, there are two security checkpoints, one located on the ground floor near the entrance and the other on the upper level near the gates. It is recommended that passengers arrive at the airport with enough time to go through security and reach their gate.
Fast Track Lanes and Locations
Passengers who are looking to expedite their security screening process can take advantage of the fast track lanes located in both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. In Terminal 1, the fast track lane is located on the left side of the security checkpoint. In Terminal 2, the fast track lane is located on the upper level near the gates. This service is available for an additional fee and is recommended for passengers who are short on time or who prefer a quicker screening process.
Passport & Immigration Control Locations
Passport and immigration control is located in both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 of the Mexico City Benito Juarez Airport. In Terminal 1, the passport control is located on the upper level near the gates. In Terminal 2, the passport control is located on the ground floor near the baggage claim area. It is important for passengers to have all necessary travel documents ready and available for inspection by immigration officials. Additionally, passengers should allow enough time to go through the passport and immigration control process before boarding their flight.

Baggage Claim Areas
Upon arrival at Mexico City Benito Juarez Airport, passengers can easily locate the baggage claim areas in both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. The baggage claim areas are located near the exit doors of the arrival halls. Passengers are advised to check the flight information displays for the assigned baggage claim carousel number. Baggage carts are available for use in the baggage claim areas, but passengers should note that they require a coin deposit which is refunded upon return of the cart.
